What is the typical disease progression?

In the severe form: hypotonia (low muscle tone) from birth, delayed or absent walking, progressive scoliosis (curvature of the spine), breathing difficulties especially at night, possible feeding difficulties, and increasing reliance on supportive equipment. In the milder form: progressive muscle weakness, fatigue, contractures (stiff joints) and reduced mobility, which may develop more slowly and later in life.
