Does LAMA2-RD affect the brain?

Brain MRI (magnetic resonance imaging, a scan that produces detailed pictures of the brain using magnetic fields) often shows changes in the white matter (the network of nerve fibres that carries signals between different parts of the brain). These changes are very common and visible from around six months of age, but in most people they do not cause any cognitive or learning problems. However, some people may have epileptic seizures, and a small number may have learning difficulties. Intelligence is usually normal.
